Overview

The on-demand Compliance Briefing Service is primarily designed to be used by content creators. It enables them to quickly and easily understand and then meet, all of the compliance requirements.

 

The Service provides a content specific "compliance briefing" that provides everything needed to ensure that any content or material is compliant. This includes:

Content creator using compliance briefing
  • The specific compliance wording to be included in the content – including disclaimers / disclosures, warnings and footnotes

  • Guidance about where the compliance wording should be located and how it should be displayed

​​

  • Guidance covering all other compliance requirements – including aspects such as tone of voice, readability and use of jargon or abbreviations​

Compliance wording is provided:

 

  • In a format that can be easily copied and pasted into the content

  • In any language

​

Also ... all rules, wording and guidance used to generate the Briefings is fully approved by the organisation's own Compliance or Legal team.

Content Specific:

Compliance briefings are produced for the specific content that is being created and will take into account factors such as:

  • Content type

  • Content format

  • Audience type

  • Jurisdiction or group of jurisdictions

  • Regulations

  • Product types or categories

  • Characteristics of the product(s)

  • Language that the compliance wording needs to be provided in

  • The type of information included in the content

Compliance Checklists:

 

Briefings can include a “compliance checklist” that lists everything in the briefing in a checklist format.

This checklist can be used by:

  • Content creators to double check that they have met all requirements before sending their content for approval

  • Content Approvers and Compliance Monitoring when they are checking if a content item is compliant

Using the Service:

 

To request a briefing, the content creator will be given access to an Athena web page where they will enter criteria about their content. This will take less than a minute.

 

The Athena system will generate the briefing based on the criteria provided and will supply the briefing to the requestor in less than 2 minutes.

 

The content creator will use the briefing to:

 

  • Identify any compliance related sections that should be included in their content

​

  • Copy wording such as disclaimers and warnings from the briefing and paste it into their content

​

  • Review all other compliance guidance or rules to make sure that their content is compliant
